Vivekanand Innovation and Incubation Centre (VIIC)
Entrepreneurship in India is on the edge of explosive growth. This also throws new opportunities for the eco-system to take shape. Angel investors, venture capital, media, start-up clubs, service providers, mentors and training companies are going to grow. And one important component in this move is the incubator-the place where start-ups are born.
Vivekanand College has started a non profit business incubation centre to enable its students and students from outside to get first-hand experience in entrepreneurship, promote innovation driven activities at the college and provide comprehensive and integrated range of support. We offer various incubation facilities like all the basic facilities to start-ups including an office space, desktops, Hi-Speed internet facility, uninterrupted Power supply etc. The VIIC also provides mentoring and training facilities to incubatee by various eminent experts like Entrepreneurs, Scientists, Researchers, Faculties from various academic institutes, Legal Advisors, Economical Advisors, etc. The prime goal of VIIC is to provide incubation facilities for developing the innovative business ideas of incubatee and establish the business into the Ancillary unit, Micro and Medium scale industries.
Objectives of VIIC:
- To help innovators to develop new products.
- To promote technology start-ups.
- To provide high end industrial training to increase chances of good quality jobs.
To provide strong mentorship to those who want to invent new products, services and processes and to those who want to set up their own companies.
To provide support for Intellectual property right and technology management-patents, copyrights, design registration, etc. and its commercialization.
- To provide co-working space for young entrepreneurs for promotion of start-ups.
Selection Process for Incubation:
- Submit an e-application form to the portal Idea Submission at www.vivekanandcollege.org
- Screening by VIIC Expert Committee (Proposals are examined with attention to financial, technical and social impact parameters)
- Final approval by Principal, Vivekanand College, Kolhapur.
- Agreement executed to formally commence incubation at VIIC.
- Incubation support is normally offered for one year.
