Vivekanand College ,Kolhapur has established in 1964 by Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur. The college has given much more importance to establish the grand Library in the same year. They said “Library is heart of the Institute.” It is the great source of the both information and knowledge. It is a free university for the both the teacher and learner. It works the milestone in the life of aspired learners. It produces the society and its engineer. By considering the significance, the college has dedicated it’s all to furnish and beautify the library.Library plays a vital role in supporting teaching and learning activities.Library is meant to help academic community ,faculty & Students to keep abreast with the latest development in their respective subjects and to provide information support for research At the same time for the students ,library is source to get information support for their course curriculum as well as for their self development .
Vivekanand college Kolhapur library has been providing books, reference books, magazine, periodical, journal, newspapers to its readers since its establishment. As the changing days the library has changed its face Presently the library has provided E-Books, EJournal, E-Database with the help of new science and technology.
The library has a grand and sufficient attached building. It also provides sufficient rooms for readers and researcher workers. It has also provided ITC based facility’s and services. The library has been automated SLIM-21 Library Management Software .
Library Advisory Committee-
The Library operates under the guidance of the advisory committee that meets periodically and reviews the status and suggests new initiatives .

The Library is open 10 hours from Monday to Saturday.The Library is remain closed on all Gazetted holidays.
