Department of Sociology was established in the college in 1964.Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations, and societies, and how people interact within these contexts. Through the Department of Sociology, emphasis is placed on creating social awareness among the students. Creating social commitment among the students through various activities, old clothes have been distributed to the poor and needy people through the Department of Sociology. In the same way, the Department of Sociology has done the work of providing masks to the common people while maintaining social commitment in the time of Corona. Meeting the elderly people in the old age home and donating food to them feeding them as well as spending time with them and chatting with them Activities of their interest like Bhajan Kirtan were conducted by the Department of Sociology in the old age home Providing one meal to the orphans poor and needy people on the streets Taking a small child living away from the poor home Sociology department distributes blankets to the sugarcane cutters who suffer a lot in winter, activities like this are implemented in the college by the department of sociology. Therefore, a kind of social commitment work is done on behalf of the Department of Sociology. Social activities are continuously implemented to make the students aware of social service. The purpose of this is to make students ideal citizens, to develop social awareness among students, to inculcate social value in students, to make them aware of social problems, to make students self-reliant, to teach social equality, to make them aware of social commitment.
