The Women Empowerment Cell of Vivekanand college was established in 2016 as per the guidelines of UGC under the leadership of the Principal Dr. H. B. Patil. At present the cell is headed by the Principal Dr. R.R. Kumbhar and Ms. Sumayya Inamdar as a Convenor.

The cell was established with an aim to provide a strong platform for their voice, thoughts, opinions, skills and also for their various issues regarding health and hygiene and mostly for promoting Gender Equality and enhance understanding about economic empowerment among them. The cell offers a campus as a safe place for the female students and staff. The cell stands for the facilities like awareness programme, welfare activities etc. the cell provides platform for exploring their hidden skills and talents.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CELL :

• To inculcate a habit of respect and gender equality
• To create awareness among women on various issues and problems.
• To prevent violence and discrimination against women in campus.
• To maintain health and hygiene.
• To conduct activities like guest lectures, seminars, workshops relating to women safety and overall personality development.

  ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CELL :
1. The cell organizes guest lectures, seminars, workshops and addresses women issues.
2. The cell creates a conducive counselling environment for shearing their problems.
3. The cell is aiming at the intellectual and social upliftment of every female figure in the campus.
4. The Cell organizes provides self- defence training
