Introduction: The study on women is the part of some of the  progrmmes run by Vivekanand College, Kolhapur (Autonomous). In Arts and Humanities, the disciplines like Sociology, Political Science, History, English, Hindi and Marathi included   Women’s Movements and Women’s Studies in the syllabi. In Commerce curriculum, the Module on Women Entrepreneurs is highlighted. Some Career Oriented Courses like Fashion Designing, Modern Cookery, Beauty Parlour,   have been running since 1998.
