Department of Microbiology
Department of Microbiology was established in June 2008. Co-ordinator and head of the Department is Dr. G.K.Sontakke. Department has 5 teaching faculties for UG ,2 teaching facuiltes for PG and 2 non teaching faculties including and teaching staff has participated in around 33 conferences, seminars and workshops. Department of microbiology has a well developed infrastructure and a well equipped laboratory to provide facilities required to to acquire research and skill based knowledge. Department of microbiology has a separate departmental library in which various reference books required for the UG and PG courses are provided. Also, E-books and journals are available for the students. For the evaluation of students knowledge routine unit tests, surprise tests, open book tests, seminars are also held. Average result of the department is above 97% and average students admitted for PG courses is above 77%. Department of microbiology aims to initiate faculty exchange programmes with neighboring institutions, inculcation of research oriented perspective among students, development of microbiological culture and microbiology knowledge in the society to use it in society's day today life and to organize memorandum of understanding (MoU) with industries to develop application based knowledge among students.
